Miguel is one of our amazing yoga instructors here at FRESH.. He is known for his positive nature and good music choices, expect anything from Disney songs to Stevie Wonder. In his Power Yoga class, you will be put through your paces and leave feeling whole and energised. yoga is a fast-paced cardiovascular workout focused on building strength and flexibility in the body through high-impact yoga postures.
In his own words
I have been teaching yoga since October 2019. I have been practicing since 2017 when I injured my hip and wanted to remain active. So, this is all relatively new to me. I take every experience with patience and gratitude. It shocks me to this day that I live a life where I get to teach yoga and connect with so many people. I grew up in Southern California and joined the United States Marine Corps six months before September 11th, 2001. It changed my life. I worked another 20 years in US Defense after that. I am now separated from that life and am pursuing my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling where my focus is on serving active duty and veterans. I am looking forward to practicing as a therapist and bringing everything I learn to my yoga classes as well. In many ways, the last five years of my life have been unexpected, unrelenting, and unplanned. It has also been remarkable, emotional, and fulfilling.
I teach a dynamic practice in Power Yoga. I teach because I want to give students what yoga (and so many other wellness activities) has done for me. I want people to push their limits in a healthy way so they can strengthen more than just their bodies. I want them to gain confidence in themselves, gain emotional balance, and mental clarity. We practice settling the heart and the mind while putting ourselves into difficult poses. In doing so, you learn to settle your heart and mind in everything you do. Standing in a long queue, having difficult conversations with people, handling upsetting news; it's all yoga and our responses to these events can be cultivated through practice. My goal is to challenge and empower everyone who walks into my classes. I want them to discover who they truly are; more beautiful than they think and bigger than they ever imagined.

I love the Scottish Highlands for a getaway. The hills are so inspiring and alluring. I have a hard time returning to Cambridge when I begin my departure from Scotland. My heart longs for that part of the world.

Being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it what I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake.
