If you’re an absolute newbie to exercise, or perhaps your fitness just isn’t what it used to be… We’ve got you! The best thing about FRESH. is that it’s open to ALL LEVELS. We celebrate you signing up and taking those first few nervous steps to better your health.

NOTE: If you want to try a class that isn’t mentioned below and you’re worried about not being able to cope with it, FEAR NOT! All of our instructors are experienced in dealing with any ability, just let us know any concerns at the start of the session so we can keep an eye on your progress and offer feedback throughout the class.

Taking the first step…

If working out is an unnatural concept for you, you are not alone. Everyone starts somewhere, it’s important for you to feel welcome and supported on your new journey.

All of our instructors at FRESH. are used to working with people of all levels and will happily adapt the class to suit your needs. But if you’re looking for something more gentle to ease you in or something a little easier to follow along to kickstart it then check out our suggestions below.

These classes are perfect for:

  • Complete beginners: These classes are a good introduction to the basics, once you feel comfortable you can challenge yourself with other sessions. Or if this is where you find your peace, you're welcome to stay

  • People recovering from injury or illness: For those dealing with injuries it is especially careful to keep an eye on stability during movements and not overworking problem areas. These classes focus on involving props to give you the relief you need to get the right stretch/exercise without being overworked

  • Senior clients: Keeping joints and limbs healthy becomes more important as we age, these classes focus on easing you into a more limber and confident you!

Barre Beginners

The perfect class for beginners or those starting their fitness journey. BARRE is the class that will make you shake! Combining elements of Ballet & Pilates, this class is incredible for improving your balance & strengthening your whole body. You don’t need a barre to participate either, just a chair or table will do… Or you could be daring and give it a go without?! #HEYLOOKNOHANDS!

 

Gentle Yoga

Our Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga and Gentle Yoga classes are also suitable for beginners and returners to exercise. Gentle classes for ultimate nourishment of the body and the mind. In these classes your teacher will guide you through an intelligent sequence of movements, linked together with the breath that will open up and strengthen the body. Yoga is great for beginners or for people who want to really fine tune their foundations with mobility.

Expect a combination of stillness, movement, nourishing breathwork and relaxation. So whatever you’re craving, you will be able to move your body in a way that feels good for you.

Body Balance

This is a low impact, resistance band class combining some chair based and standing activity, aimed at strengthening muscles and bones to help make the functional activities of everyday life easier.

 

Pilates

Pilates is hugely beneficial to anyone at any stage of their fitness journey, the holy grail of body loving fitness, you might say. Slow controlled movements allow your body to really work whilst being low impact enough for even complete beginners. Have you ever seen a 90 year old that looked & acted about 50… or a 50 year old that looked & acted 30 (I’m looking at you Elle MacPherson)? They’ve been doing Pilates. I put money on it.

Stretch & Tone

Our Stretch & Tone and Flexitone classes both offer a wonderful basis for beginning or returning to exercise.

We often forget the importance in staying supple. In fact, stretching is a great way to relax, stay fit and just taking that 45 minutes to realign and slow things down is just as important as strengthening your body! This low impact class helps you to stretch out your body, easing tension and tightness. It is suitable for all levels as modifications can be given where needed.

Gentle Hatha

Suitable for seniors and is perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to renew their practice with a step-by-step introduction.

This gentle class can be taken using a chair, yoga mat or combination of both. Learn how to come in and out of postures (asanas) in a safe and methodical way and how to maximize the benefit of the asanas.

We will take the approach of developing balance, strength, flexibility, relaxation and good alignment. Breathing techniques will also be introduced.

 

Dance & Cardio

If you’re looking for something a little more upbeat but without too much impact, Chasamba & Bounce are a great way to improve your cardiovascular fitness in a fun way. Easy-to-follow routines and great music will make you forget you’re even working out!
