AMY JOLLY
She/Her
Amy teaches Pregnancy Yoga with Relaxation and Parent & Baby Yoga (post-natal) classes.
Yoga is everything to me and I share that love with my four beautiful children and five furbabies. I have made it my mission to advocate for the essential need of intentional and constructive rest. In a fast-paced world where worth is often based on our level of productivity, I am rebelling. I like to make this the base of all my classes and my favourite line to share is- to thrive at this magical human experience, you must sometimes resist being a “human doing” and relearn to be a “human being”. Be as much as you do, to find balance and well-being harmony.
My teaching style is best described as nurturing and compassionate. All my classes are based on the elements of nature, somatic practices and intuitive movement.
MAD Credentials
I have trained in a mixture of yoga styles and well-being techniques- Hatha, Tantra, Yin, Elemental, Pre and post natal yoga, baby and children’s yoga, family yoga, ritual space holding and circle facilitator, trauma informed and Somatic teaching techniques.
Passion for Pre & Post Natal Teaching
Having experienced four VERY different pregnancies and births myself, I wanted to extend my experience, knowledge and support to other women during their pregnancy and postnatal journey’s. It feels like the greatest privilege to be able to guide and nurture these women during this incredible stage in their lives. I’m also really passionate about advocating for individual choices in pregnancy, birth and beyond, I want women to feel empowered by the choices they make for themselves and their babies.
Amy Loves
You will find me climbing trees with my family, creating nature art, going on barefoot walks, finding magic in everyday things and excitedly sharing with others about my awesome thrifted finds. I enjoy being creative, reading poetry, going to the theatre and telling really funny (bad) jokes. I have magpie tendencies, I’m drawn to anything different, shiny and colourful- crystals, candles, Artwork, pretty plant pots, nice glasses and anything that sparkles. I am obsessed with the moon, she’s my best gal pal! I love trees, I find them fascinating, and you’ll often find me with a tree themed book in hand. I enjoy letting the day go with a good shake, dance and sing song before dedicating time for intentional rest.
Amy’s Well-Being Tips
Rest is the best kind of soul medicine in a fast paced world. Give yourself time to rest and fill your own inner cup up because you can’t keep giving from an empty cup. They say there are 7 types of rest- physical, mental, emotional, social, creative, sensory and spiritual. I advocate for showing yourself some self care and making time for whatever type of rest you need. Your nervous system will thank you.
