BODY BALANCE

A FREE class as part of our Community Initiative.

The BODY BALANCE classes (Beginners’ and Advanced) offer two levels of fun, low impact, resistance band work, with a mix of seated and standing activity. The aim is to strengthen muscles and bones to help make the functional activities of everyday life easier.

What should I expect?

The class will include a mixture of seated and standing exercise focusing on strength, flexibility and balance. The class will feature a range of exercises proven to help reduce the risk of falls, improve circulation, help make everyday activities feel a little easier and increase confidence.

Accessibility

The Beginner Class is held in an easily accessible downstairs studio. There is access via an outside ramp and an internal ramp.

The Advanced Class is held in our upstairs studio accessible via stairs only.

Who is it for?

Although aimed at older adults or those with some limited mobility, the class is suitable for anyone looking for low impact, targeted exercise.

Body Balance Beginner

Incorporating all the functional strength and balance exercises of the Body Balance class, the beginner’s session is mainly seated, with just a little standing work. This makes it suitable for those with more limited mobility or for whom access is more challenging.

Body Balance Advanced

This advanced class is a more dynamic version of Body Balance, featuring many more standing exercises and additional challenges to ensure participants are continuing to progress. It incorporates a musical element for the warm-up, adding to the development of everyday functional movements. This class is held in our upstairs studio only accessible via stairs.

This is a FREE CLASS offered as part of our community initiative. If you have a family member, friend or neighbour that you think may benefit please get in touch so we can get them signed up.
